I work for a very well known, fortune 500 company. Both pay and the work culture around is good. I work in a pretty big sales dept and was hired as an analyst. I'm an mba and have about 3 years of experience including internships.
For this job, I was interviewed by 6 people for almost 8 hours and it was surely a very intense one. So when I was hired, I was kind of proud of my achievement. However, ever since I've joined this job (about 8 months now) I'm always nervous and unhappy. I faced several events where I felt that my manager was biased and didn't like me much. Later on, he also told me that he didn't like my work. I felt that he expected way too much from a new hire. But I tried my best. I was put on a project which required immense info on company processes, knowledge of people etc. Whenever I would go to him with questions, he would say I don't know the answer and that's ehy I've hired you. He told me that I wasn't an 'infuencer'.
Anyway, now I've a new group (we have had several re-organizations in last few months) and have a new manager. I think she likes my work - not sure yet as I'm quite new. However, this new group does things which I'm not very interested in. Apart from working on one interesting project, In do things like creating online surveys or setting up webinars for directors. I don't mind doing these things but I feel I wasn't hired for these things. Also, other folks who were hired with me, I feel, work on much better stuff and have way higher visibility in the organization.
可以有很明显他很多事情re. I don't want to make this very long. But I want to understand if it's me , that is if I'm not capable of doing things here then I should be worried and either ramp up or change my job. I'm not sure if this is an 'image' issue and if yes then how I can change my image or position around?
I'm obviously very new to large, matrix organizations and trying hard to figure my way around.
Would appreciate any insights from experienced folks around here..thanks!
