Best Social Networking Sites For Marketing

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I'm a huge fan of using social networking sites to help small businesses build and maintain a web presence. I wanted to get some feedback on what you think the BEST social networking sites to market a small business. I'll start the list, but please add on:

EBAY - make a free online store and build a customer base.

MYLOCALSPOT - like a myspace for small businesses. create a free profile with pictures, business description, products/services and specials.

博客——创建一个免费博客和“成为一个专家" in your field. Backlink to your site and hopefully generate some traffic from technocrati searches.

WORDPRESS - like blogger, but lets you do some different things. Definitely worthwhile to checkout.

SQUIDOO - create a free webpage about your business OR a current special your business is running. Easy to use!

Here is something my company has put together that might help.

    https://www.dexteritymedia.com/Services/SocialMediaOptimization/SocialMedia...

In addition we've also createdwww.socialtrackr.comIt's a directory for social media sites.

Since there are thousands of sites being started daily/weekly it's going to be some what difficult to keep up with them. Which is why we started this directory.

    I hope this helps!

Well that all depends on the type of business. MySpace is a great place for certain businesses. Why not go where the business' customers go?

Ebay is great if you ahve items to sell but if the business is a service company it is pretty useless.

BLOGS very much depend on you driving traffic to it so I don't think it matters so much.

I am not sure about SQUIDOO yet.

    I highly recommendhttps://www.linkedin.com
The premise is to create a wide net of networking connections through your direct contacts. When you create a connection with a direct contact, you are exposed to their list of contacts, and so on. With 4 connections, you can have a database of thousands of sub-connections. In addition, you can provide recommendations for connections and in return, receive recommendations.

I haven't heard about Mylocalspot until now, but it looks neat.
If your small business is in one of the major cities of america thenwww.yelp.comis pretty good. It mainly deals with San Francisco area but they also have directories for lots of other major cities. It also has like a rating score and reviews on the place too along with maps. More info can be found:

Blogs depend on traffic... how are you going to even get traffic towards your blog? What are you going to even have on the blog if your focus is to get the small business out? Blogs however do work on some Clothing and Accessory online stores and they could get traffic by affiliating with each other and also withhttps://neetmagazine.com/which is an online magazine that pretty much is packed with advertisements on Indie companies.
