Luz Or Loose??

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
hello!!
I work in High end Jewelry and the company I work for is about to launch their next collection. There is some disagreement about he name of one of th collections: the initial name was "Luz" which means light in Spanish and suits the design of the pieces very well because it is bright and luminous. The problem is that we have realized that in the pronunciation of the word is quite close to the word Loose in English. The firm plans to sell online the collections and we are wondering if it would be appropriate to think about changing the name "Luz" for something else. The clients will mainly see the name written so initially they wouldn't have to think about Luz as loose. what do you think? I would very much appreciate your opinion as we are now trying to decide if we should change the name of this collection or not.
Thank you for your help!!

Gut tells me you should change the name if you are selling to engish speakers. The last thing anyone wnats to do is to Luz jewelry.

    HI
I believe that you should stop thinking about this word (Luz) because most of the companies are now screening the names after checking their meanings in multiple languages..........at least global ones.

If spanish name contradicts with English, which is global language.... i think u should change the name.

You could clarify you name such as:

    Luz: Spanish Luminous Custom Jewelry

或, change the spelling to convey the sound:

    Looz

或, even change the name for the language:

    Brilliance
    Luminosity
    Bright and Luminous
