Topic: Taglines/Names

I Need A Tag Line For My Re Business Cards.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I just went to work in a new area with a new company. I have over 28 years experience in the real estate industry. Broker in 3 states, was a licensed instructor, and have built houses, steel buildings, and was a broker for a major food chain. The company name is "Legend Realty" My name has no catch to it. It is a small community with friendly people, new const., outside of a major northwest arkansas town with lush farm land in surrounding areas. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks

Mr Ashworth thank you for the idea. I had a man go to bat for me against another realtor one time and this is what he said "Donna is honest almost to a point of being blunt and I find this refreshing in the real estate world today and would not do a real estate transaction with out her" My problem is how do I put that into a tag line with out exalting myself and sounding to prideful?

Thanks everyone I am getting some good insite

I know the question is closed.

But I don't know about the whole "legend" thing.

I keep thinking of people I don't work with any more, who were nicknamed "A legend in his own lunchtime" and "Legend in his own mind".

I think the Legend tagline is somewhat boastful and invites the prospect to say "so what".

I'd prefer you to think of some reason why the prospect should want to have you as their realtor, as opposed to anyone else. And then make that the message of your tagline. Effectively, it's got to be a very succinct value proposition statement (it explains the value you represent to them). And it has to fit on the card.

So I agree with the suggestion fromMike Ashworthwho suggested calling past customers to see what they thought of the experience of having you as their realtor.

In the absence of any such research material, I might make some assumptions that people come to you (or you approach them) because they are looking for a new home in your area, or because they want to sell the home they already have. So the key things they will be looking for are going to vary, depending on whether they are buyers or sellers:

    For buyers
    1. Local area knowledge
    2. An ability to listen to their stated needs
    3. Some kind of process to uncover any unstated needs
    4. A process to match what you know is available (stock) to their real needs, at a price they can afford to pay.

    So the tagline might be:

Describe your new home, I'll find it for you

For sellers, the key things they will be looking for are:

    1. Knowledge of where to find buyers
    2. How to help make their home attractive to buyers
    3. Knowledge of local market price trends.

So the tagline for them might be:

Your home sold quickly for the highest price

It's hard to see how you could have one tagline that would work for both markets. I think you might need to consider having two cards.

    Hope that helps.

Mike and Chris thank you. I have taken a survey of previous customers. The top three feed back was

    # 1 - I showed them property based on what they told me they wanted, not based on our company or my inventory.

    # 2 - They said they felt I was honest and put everything on the table. No hold backs.

    # 3 - They said they felt I was knowledgable concerning negotiations and contracts.

I guess I don't know how to put that into a tag line but I think maybe you are right use my experience and not the company's name..

    Again thanks everyone.
