Marketing Galapagos Eco-tourism Company

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
How can I market my eco-tourism company for free on the internet? I want to reach an audience of adventurous travelers who are interested in the unique biodiversity of the islands. We offer trips that include snorkeling, kayaking, horseback riding to the second largest volcano crater in the world and diving (extra). Our trips are in the mid-range for prices but we offer great accommodation and food and an exciting island hopping itinerary.

Any ideas for free sites to post on?

Any ideas for how to contact agencies overseas to sell our trips?

Any ideas on how to get the message out about our sustainable business practices, our fabulous bilingual guides, etc.?

visit our website and let me know what you think and if you have any tips for me

Thanks in advance!!

I would suggest you partner up with some companies in Europe and the USA so that you can establish a flow of business. I would suggest contacting some smaller travel agencies from the start and work your way up to the larger ones.

You're selling an experience, so give them a feel for it. Starting with your website: less text and quicker-loading pictures on your home page. Show the animals. Show people having fun. Show a map of where it is in the world. Testimonials of previous customers.

Can you get certified as an ecological tour company? If so, it'll benefit you many times over. You may be able to become a recommended resource for Sierra Club, etc.

Find blogs that talk about the islands (search for "galapagos blog") and comment (not just sell) about what to see and do, and how to be eco-friendly.

    FREE? Hmmm.....www.trafficswarm.com

Just don't get discouraged if you don't get good results. You probably need someone in the US and EMEA to actively promote your tours. I'm not saying you have to pay the $10,000 that Starcite charges but you are competing in that arena.

I may still have a contact or 2 atwww.iexplore.comif you want to get involved with them.

Most of the bookings on the internet are simple programs. The biggest thing to overcome is lack of trust. A travel agent brings that element. Becoming a member of USTOA or NTA will help you.

Hope this helps. You can always e-mail me offline.

    Michael
