Horse Related Business Name...help!

Posted bytjpeter77on 250 Points
I'm having great difficulty coming up with a memorable business name. It is going to be a horse apparel store focusing on infant/children clothing & accessories. Eventually may expand to include adult & household items. I can come up with some great "dressage" based names, but a large part of my marketing is going to be to western styles (i.e. barrel racing, cowboys/cowgirls, etc). Because of this the name can not be discipline specific.

I did come up with two generic name, but not really sure they would be memorable for my product:

Sweet Pea
Little Peanut (this is sort of after my daughter because we call her Peanut)

Something horse related but non-specific. -- like "the tack room" would allow you to extend your line.

something that has the word horse in it -- ie. horsefeathers, horsing around, clotheshorse, horseplay, hobbyhorse

    或a western theme: cowpoke, duderanch

Peanut or Sweet Pea lends itself to your idea of infant/children's clothing but does nothing to evoke the western/horse image

you may try for a name and a tagline that further describes what you do.
ex. Hobby Horse clothing and Gifts
Equine-inspired clothing and accessories for your little cowpoke
. . .ok so that's a little long but you get the idea. You'll do better if people intuitively know what you do from your business name. Good luck!

I really like "The Tack Room"!! Another one I came across in my internet searching was "Needle in a Haystack".

On this same topic, I'm operating under the assumption that it is going to be important that I can build a website with the name of my business as the address. Do you think that is pretty important or not so much?

关于你website, I think it's somewhat important, but you can work around it. The .com for the two names you mentioned have already been registered, so you would have to come up with a different one.

Tack is what the horse wears, right? The Tack Room is somewhat confusing to me if you're opening a clothing store for people. Are you going to sell tack as well?

    Best,
    Jim

Thanks for the help. I have a friend who has come up with a couple other good ideas so now I'm just going to have to mull them over in my head and come up with the one that sticks.
