Business Name Needed For Women's Clothing Store

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm having trouble thinking of a creative name/tagline for our new store. I'm opening up a women's contemporary clothing, accessories, and giftware store in rural Montana. The area has primarily ag and oil based industries. We have another store named Pony Expressions in a neighboring town, but do not want to use the name because that store is primarily screen printing and embroidery. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

感谢the ideas! But I'm looking for a name that is not western. There is already a western store in town and I don't want to people to think that we carry western clothing as well.

Perhaps you could expand a little on your uniqueness, beyond that you are located in rural Montana. Such as, further describe your target audience? Where are they buying these kinds of products currently? Where are they? Where are you, what part on Montana? Do you have any competition for what you are planning? If yes, why do your prospective customers need another retail store option?

The more information you can provide us, the better we can provide you with more focused name options.

At the moment the only 2 clothing stores in town are JC Penneys and a western store. So I'm targeting working women and women in general from 30-85. It would be more of a boutique. We carry several lines of clothing that are available in the area (by area I mean within 30-50 miles), but we also carry several lines that are unique to us. We are located in north central Montana, about 45 minutes from the Canadian border (whom with our deflated dollar shop in the states more often and are potential customers). We also carry unique jewelry and gift items not available for 50-100 miles.

"The Complete Woman's Boutique" could be a name or a tagline.

Some other name and/or tagline options include:
Across The Border, A Contemporary Women's Boutique
Border Advantage, A Modern Woman's Boutique
The NorthHouse Boutique, Modern Designs for Modern Women
The Border Boutique, Designs for Discriminating Women
NorthLine Design Boutique, Woman's Clothing - Jewelry - Gifts

Of course you can mix and match the above. Hope this helps in your creative thinking.

what does the nxnw stand for? And in response to Steve, I don't really want to use directions. There is already 3 "Northern" busi esses in town. I am liking some of the names, but just lookong for something different. We have 2 other stores in neighboring towns but do not want to use those names because we do carry western apparel in those. The names are The Choteau Trading Post and Pony Expressions. I know it seems strange but we inherited the trading post name and the other one was in existence long before as a screen printing and embroidery shop. This new store is just filling a niche we believe is not available in another town. I'm also considering using "gotcha covered" as a tagline as we do have women covered in 3 different areas. Thanks for your help!!!

The suggestions offered were based on your input, specfically your proximity to the Canadaim border and the fact that some significant percentage of your business comes from Canadians. This was the only, or at least most clear, unique benefit you have provided.

I understand you would like a clever non-western name, presumably a name that could be used in any state. But based on what unique benefit? The style theme about your brand? What is it? A feeling about your brand? What is it?

It is easy to google keywords such as "women's clothing boutique near los angeles" or women's fashion design boutique near new york". These searches will return many store names, examples could include; Pink Coyote, The Spotted Feline, Lucy Unlimited or Aurora (latin for dawn).

Point being, any of these names would be judged by you, but by what criteria?

    North by NorthWEST = NxNW

If this well used vernacular abbreviation for large concerts & events etc isn't understoood by you perhaps it isn't the best for your market..

Taglines usually call to action or answer a clients need after using your business to solve their issues.

    Happy Hunting
