What's A Brand Proposition

I am not sure the different between brand proposition and brand positioning?

It looks very similiar to each other. What is the crictical different between these two?

    Brand Proposition: The bundle of benefits that consumers derive out of any brand. It also includes the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) which the consumer benefit that no other brand can provide.

    Brand Positioning: it is how the brand appears and perceived againts other brands in the same market/segment.

    based on your brand proposition you position the brand in the market.
