Html Software

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am trying to get some feedback from forum members on the best software that I can use for email newsletters.

I want to create the emails in a WYSIWYG editor that can create the html code as well. I don't want to be mucking around with html.

I then want to send the newsletters using Outlook 2007 rather than using a web based program to store my database.

Are there any ideas?

You can use a WYSIWIG editor. That's no problem.

A couple of things...just be sure that your using CSS with email's best practices in mind (for example, inline) and that your image paths are absolute.

As for using Outlook, this is really not a good idea, and it's been discussed in detail.

Why are you so sure that you want to use Outlook?

I've used a tool called Gammadyne Mailer for many years. It's bursting at the seams with technical features that I never use, but it does an excellent job sending email from my database, using variable names and content, updating a database to remove bounces and so on. Free trial at the web site (emails have watermarks with trial) . . . I think it's about $150. Give it a shot, don't let all the unnecessary technical capabilities put you off.

    Outlook has this ability built-in:

But as others have wisely cautioned, do it at your own risk.

Are you looking for something like SendBlaster?

    https://www.sendblaster.com/

How many emails you are looking to send out? I'm not sure, whether one can send bulk emails using outlook.

    Thank you for the replies.

I hadn't realised that using Outlook was not recommended and am pleased to have found this out.

I tried to download Sendlblaster but could not get it to open.

In the meantime, I have come across MyNewsletter Builder that seems to be the best overall fit for what I was looking for and looks like the direction that I will be heading.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Whoops – late entry here – I was away on family business last week.

有很多垃圾发表的地方’s and why-fore’s of using one program over another. The inherent problems with Outlook are not terminal and depend on the volume of mails in a single batch and in a single day. Getting yourself blacklisted is achieved, with ease, via any program if you use inappropriate email addresses. The “No-Outlook” argument is therefore dependent on the volume of emails you wish to send, how you batch them and if you really want your “sent” box filling up with 10,000 copies of the same email with differing addresses.

Most CRM systems will offer a campaign service. Take Maximizer for example. A single license would allow you to store your addresses, create templates and merge information into an HTML email. You then dispatch the emails via an SMTP server which can be a piece of freeware.

Response handling is important as “do not email me” requests must be detected as must bad email addresses. Continuing to mail either will get your IP address barred or get you sued.

Outlook at least has a decent piece of shareware available to analyse the bounce-backs and to delete them from your database. Maximizer allows response handling at a logical level which relies on some basic setting of rules or programming. As a guide, if your email blast is important enough for you to have spent some time constructing it, then it is important enough for you to have a professional pull it together. Anyone can learn enough about a given solution over a few weeks, but surely you have a business to run, rather than becoming a CRM-email wizard?

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Steve

I have actually gone with a company called MyNewsletterBuilder. It seems to offer everything that I need but time will tell.

I can see that the question that I asked is one where everybody has an opinion and they're all varied!

In many ways, what I needed was a template that I was happy with and that I could work with and I found that this was my biggest challenge.

If it turns out that MyNewsletterBuilder doesn't work, then I will certainly good at Maximer down the track.

A suggestion from AmSam earlier was sendblaster but I couldn't get it to install - damn computers!

Thanks for taking the effort to post a late response.
